English for IT B1 / GSE 36–49 is a selected response English-language certification exam that tests a candidate’s ability to communicate in English at the lower-intermediate level (CEFR B1, GSE 36–49). It specifically tests a candidate’s knowledge of the structure of the language (i.e. grammar, syntax, and semantics) and a candidate’s ability to read, listen, speak and write in English.
The certification holder is able to read, listen, speak and write within the field of IT to a lower-intermediate level, as well as understand and effectively use all the grammar and vocabulary of the lower-intermediate level pertaining to the field of IT, in particular the fields of software development, project management, community management, data analysis, AI Prompting, DevOps and customer and technical support.
Becoming certified in English for IT B1 / GSE 36–49 ensures that the individual possesses a level of English that is sufficient to continue their study of English as a Foreign Language, and prepares them to study at the intermediate to upper-intermediate level, enabling them to become ever more proficient in the use of the English language.
